May, 2012 With A Vintage Chanel Diana Bag
Barbra Streisand accessorized with this vintage Chanel “Diana” bag, as she made her way to Joel Silver’s Annual Memorial Day Party in Malibu, on May 28, 2012. Joel is a film producer who owns Silver Pictures and is the co-founder of Dark Castle Entertainment.

This Chanel bag was produced from 1989 until approximately 1995, and popularized by Princess Diana who owned the small version. The bag became such an essential part of Diana’s look, that Karl Lagerfeld decided to name it after his favorite princess.
Today, this bag is a super elusive, and a must have item for any vintage Chanel collector. The Diana in caviar leather is the rarest and hardest to find. The most noticeable feature of this bag is that it has a curved front panel with smooth edges, instead of quilting throughout. Barbra’s patent leather bag features a woven leather chain strap and Chanel’s trademark interlocking CC closure in 24k gold. Post 2009, Chanel stoped using real gold in their hardware. It has a black leather interior with zip and slip pockets. In 2015 Chanel reissued this bag in both leather and jersey versions.
