New York Magazine 2018 Women And Power Cover

Barbra Streisand appeared in this black & leather ensemble on the cover of the Oct 15-28th, 2018 special edition of New York Magazine titled “Women And Power.” Twelve versions of the magazine’s cover were released. Barbra’s featured her standing side-by-side with the young Jewish activist Naomi Wadler. Women and Power was a series about women and their relationship to power —how they get it, how they lose it, how they wield it, what they sacrifice for it, and, ultimately, what they hope power will help them achieve. In the piece, Barbra states “Lately, I’m grateful to have music in my life to stand up to power. The first single from my new album, Walls, is called “Don’t Lie to Me.” We have a president who lies without guilt, and I just can’t watch. I have to speak out or, in this case, sing out about my feelings.” In photos shot by Amanda Demme, Barbra was styled by Rebecca Ramsey. She wears a lambskin stretch leather “coltra” jacket by “The Row”, which features front flap pockets and a bonded stretch cotton interior.

The jacket has a six button closure and two adjustable waistband tabs. Beneath this she wears The Row’s “Zalini” turtleneck top in lightweight fluid stretch cashmere, paired with black flat front flared leg pants. The look was accessorized with a newsboy cap in PU leather from Barbra’s personal collection.
