Out In Santa Monica With Chanel “Boy” Bag

Barbra Streisand accessorized with this quilted Chanel “Boy” bag as she stepped out for dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica on May 24th, 2019.

Karl Lagerfeld that introduced the Boy Bag as a tribute to Coco Chanel. Coco Chanel was very tomboy-ish and she was often inspired by menswear. Her biggest muses were her boyfriends and the love of her life, Boy Capel, thus Karl Lagerfeld paid a tribute to the men in her life with the creation of the Chanel Boy bag. The Boy bag is more bulky and modern than its “Classic Flap” sister.

Barbra’s black purse is a medium size Boy bag, made from calfskin leather. It features Chanel’s trademark diamond quilting with a linear quilted border. There is a large link chain in aged gold with a leather shoulder pad. The front flap has an aged antique inspired gold graphic clasp, with a unique double C push fastening mechanism.  The purse is lined with cloth and features an inner patch pocket.
