Walls Album Cover In B & S Studio

Barbra Streisand wore this fringed, lush, macramé shawl by B&S Studio on the cover of her 2018 thirty-sixth studio album, “Walls”. This album was released on Nov 2, 2018. It debuted at number 12 on the US Billboard 200, and was featured by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the 20 best pop albums of 2018.

In an interview with NPR,  Barbra expressed that it was important to her to do this album “Because I could express my thoughts and feelings at a time when I was feeling sad and heartbroken about what’s happening to our country. And i’m so grateful that I have music in my life that gives me the chance to express my feelings through my work.” Regarding the cover shoot for this album Barbra stated “A lot of times I do the covers before I know what’s in them. I had this shot in mind for the cover which is actually right here on my property, in front of my walls. Walls are designed to protect us sometimes, but they could also divide us. There are physical walls and there are also emotional walls that we build around our hearts and our minds.”

Barbra obtained this shawl from Church Boutique, which is a store she frequents, and notably also purchased her 2019 Chanel Oscars dress from. With it’s intricate textures and macramé detailing, this elegant piece blends Victorian vibes with a modern, sharp, rock and roll edginess. In addition to it’s beautiful fringe work, this shawl features floral embroidery throughout. It’s dark grey palette looked stunning against the stone wall backdrop of the album cover.

B & S studio has been worn by many A-list celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Kendall Jenner, Halle Berry, Justin Bieber, Lenny Kravitz, Cher, and Steven Tyler.
